Installing the Future—Robotically
At Grafmarine, we never stop looking for smarter ways to improve both our product and how we install it. One of our biggest challenges? Accurately installing more than 6,000 deck mounts on a hatch cover – doing that manually simply isn’t an option.
We challenged a group of students from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences to determine if robotics could make this process faster and more precise. Over the course of two months, Sam Mills and Joep Groot worked closely with them through weekly sessions.
The result? An innovative robot, recently presented at RDM Rotterdam, that shows real potential for transforming how deck mounts are installed.
